Dance Exploration at Widefield Parks and Recreation in Colorado Springs is a Recreational, Non-Competitive dance program for children ages 3 to 12. Our program is designed for beginning to intermediate skilled dancers who have never danced before or have had very little dance training in the past. We follow the teaching methodology of the Dance to Learn® Curriculum. Dance to Learn® is designed with the whole child in mind to ensure that they dance, learn and grow at each stage of their dance training. Each class provides our students with an educational, engaging and enriching opportunity to explore a monthly theme, examine a weekly concept and exhibit technical skills in the dance genre they are learning.
Our Mission is to instill a love of dance in the youngest of dancers through educational, engaging and enriching Curriculum brought to us by Dance to Learn®. We have created a dance program that allows the dancers who join us at Widefield Parks and Recreation with the opportunity to dance, learn and grow with us during their early years of dance training. When they leave our program, they will have a general knowledge and understanding of dance concepts, elements and basic technique.
